:: JUBA PEACE PROCESS
The launch of Operation Lightening Thunder (OLT) on 14th December 2008 meant the collapse of the Juba Peace Initiative. This follows several failed attempts at signing the Final Peace Agreement by the LRA leader Joseph Kony. According to the Government of Uganda, OLT was meant to presurise the LRA to sign the Final Peace Agreement (FPA) or militarily bring to a total end the LRA rebellion.

In January 2009, the Government of Uganda annmounced deferral of the implementation of the PRDP to next financial year (2009/2010). This deferal only applies to the 30% Government of Uganda's contribution to the PRDP. This was due to the Government's inability to secure the 30% contribution meant for 2008/2009 financial year. The deferral doesnt apply to the 70% development partners' contribution activities (which are on going). The Government also plan ot use this period to streamline several issues surrounding the implementation of the PRDP.

The CSOPNU is governed by a Steering Committee of 12 members elected by the General Assembly for a two years term. The Steering Committee is headed by a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson elected by the Steering Committee members from within their membership at their first meeting. The Steering Committee is responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the coalition.
Since its foundation in 2002, the coalition has had four Chairpersons. The founder Chairperson was Ms. Stella Ayo-Odongo, the National Programme Coordinator of Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (UCRNN). Ms Stella led the coalition from 2002 to 2006.
In 2007, Ms. Prudence ACIROKOP (formerly working with Save the Children in Uganda) was elected the Chairperson. She was deputised by Mr. Johnson Byamukama (Concern Worldwide). However, Ms Prudence left Save the Children in Uganda before the next AGM and election.
In 2007, Mr. Johnson Byamukama (Concern Worldwide) was elected by the Steering Committee to replace Ms. Prudence. Johnson served his full term upto the 2009 Annual General Election held in Lira where a new Steering Committee was elected. Due to his new appointment with Concern Wordlwide outside Uganda, he was unable to seek re-election for Chairperson.
In March 2009, a new Chairperson and vice Chairperson were elected as follows;
